Research Funder Requirements

NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration

  • Public Access Plan
    • Publications - Submit final peer-reviewed journal manuscript to NASA PubSpace on the PubMed Central platform. Articles must be freely available no more than 12 months following publication.
    • Data - Data Management Plan required.

NIH - National Institutes of Health

  • Public Access Policy
    • Publications - Final peer-reviewed manuscripts (or final published versions, if the publisher allows) must be shared within 12 months via PubMedCentral.
    • Data - Data Management Plans required for grants over $500,000.
  • Submit manuscripts here.

NSF - National Science Foundation

  • Public Access Plan
    • Publications - Submit final peer-reviewed accepted manuscripts for journal articles and juried conference papers to the NSF Public Access Repository to be openly available no longer than 12 months following publication.
    • Data - Data Management Plan required and limited to two pages labeled "Data Management Plan".
  • NSF Public Access Repository - a searchable database for finding all NSF funded scholarly publications.
