
SCARAB (Scholarly Communications and Research at Bates) is the Institutional Repository for Bates College. It showcases digital scholarship and creative works produced by students, faculty and staff. SCARAB has a dual role in both promoting the use of the college's scholarly output and ensuring its long-term preservation, sponsored and administered by Information and Library Services.
What Types of Materials Can Be Included?
- Electronic student theses
- Open access literature
- Pre and post prints of scholarly articles (permission required, see SHERPA: RoMEO)
- Conference proceedings
- Electronic newsletters
- Presentation materials (ie: Powerpoint)
- Data
- Images
- Non-traditional scholarship
